A warm recommendation for a cold winter: The Isrotel chain has expanded its operations in the North with the Ayla Hotel, offering pleasant accommodation in a kibbutz atmosphere, a luxurious spa complex, local cuisine, and a special day-trip package. Importantly, it serves as a beacon of hope in the effort to strengthen tourism in the North.
"What do the deer do at night? They close their big eyes. They interlock their light legs, the deer sleep at night." I recalled this charming song (Lyrics by Leah Goldberg, melody by Yoni Rechter), not because the show "The Sixteenth Sheep" recently returned to the stages in Israel, but because this week I stayed at the Ayla Hotel in Kibbutz Ayelet HaShahar, in the Upper Galilee. And while the deer in the song close their eyes at night, my friends and I sat in the evening around a campfire in a special area of the hotel, with hot chestnuts and intoxicating sangria, telling tall tales (Chizbatim). And it was great fun.
