Winter is a wonderful season at the Agamon, hosting a multitude of wintering birds—cranes, flamingos, various duck species, shorebirds, raptors, and more. Special sunrise tours are also conducted.

The autumn migration is nearly complete, and the 'wintering' season (a term derived from the Hebrew word for winter) is beginning. Most of the cranes currently at the Hula Agamon will remain with us throughout the winter until spring arrives.

The birds' 'migration clock' is set according to the shortening and lengthening of daylight hours, and these days, as the hours of daylight lengthen, it signals the birds to conclude their autumn migration and prepare for winter.

Inbar Shlomit Rubin, Field Manager at Hula Agamon, KKL, stated: "Winter is a wonderful season at the Agamon; it treats us to amazing colors and stunning landscapes. A wealth of bird species winter at the Hula Agamon, including, of course, cranes, as well as flamingos, various duck species, shorebirds, raptors, and more... We conduct special sunrise tours during this season to allow everyone to enjoy the magnificent nature at the Agamon."

Rubin also noted that this morning (Thursday), approximately 20,300 cranes were counted at the Hula Agamon-KKL. What a celebration!
