Under the Theme of 'The Return Home': The 'Keshet Eilon' Music Center Will Hold its Annual Gala Concert
The 'Keshet Eilon' Music Center for string instruments recently returned to activity at its home base, Kibbutz Eilon in the Northern Western Galilee, after being evacuated due to the war. It will hold its annual gala concert at the Enav Center in Tel Aviv under the theme of 'The Return Home'.
The concert will feature a string arrangement of the piece "Yihye Tov" (It will be good) by David Broza and Yonatan Geffen. The concert, which will take place on Saturday night, January 3, at the Enav Center in Tel Aviv, will host the leading international soloist, violinist Vadim Gluzman, and the "Finale" Ensemble.
The international violinist Vadim Gluzman, one of the world's leading soloists, an alumnus of the association's first class and a faculty member at "Keshet Eilon," will be featured during the concert. Gluzman will perform the work 'Scherzo for Violin and Piano' by Johannes Brahms.
The "Finale" Ensemble is a group composed entirely of "Keshet Eilon" alumni. The chamber ensemble regularly performs at major festivals and halls in Israel and around the world. The ensemble will perform 'String Quartet in D major, Opus 76, No. 5,' one of Joseph Haydn's six famous string quartets.
During the concert, the "Keshet Eilon" Ensemble will perform an arrangement for strings by Adi Ivgi of the piece "Yihye Tov" by David Broza and Yonatan Geffen. Outstanding students from the Music Center will perform additional works including 'Adagio and Allegro, Opus 70' for viola and piano by Schumann, 'Song Without Words, Opus 109' by Mendelssohn, and additional works by Kreisler, Bloch, and others. The concert will be conducted by Keshet Eilon alumna, Michelle Bushkova. The evening will be hosted by Itzhak Rashkovsky, the Musical Director of "Keshet Eilon."
About Vadim Gluzman: Vadim Gluzman plays the 1690 'ex-Leopold Auer' Stradivarius violin, loaned to him long-term by the Stradivari Society of Chicago. Gluzman is recognized worldwide as one of the leading soloists today, breathing new life and passion into the golden age tradition of violin playing. The Israeli violinist performs as a soloist with the world's leading orchestras and conductors, including Tugan Sokhiev with the Berlin Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, and Orchestre de Paris; Neeme Järvi with the Chicago Symphony and Orchestre de la Suisse Romande; Riccardo Chailly with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Gewandhaus Orchestra, and Gothenburg Symphony; and with the Cleveland Orchestra under the batons of Hannu Lintu and Mikhail Jurowski.
Gluzman, a teacher at "Keshet Eilon" and an alumnus of the Music Center's first class, performs at music festivals including Ravinia, Tanglewood, Grant Park, and Colmar, as well as the North Shore Chamber Music Festival, which he founded in 2011. In the current season, he is also performing with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sakari Oramo, the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Santtu-Matias Rouvali, and the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra conducted by Michael Sanderling. Additionally, he participates in projects with the Hamburg Ballet and performs recitals with Evgeny Sinaisky. Furthermore, he continues to lead the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus, Ohio, where he serves as Artistic Partner and Principal Guest Artist.
About the "Finale" Ensemble: The "Finale" Ensemble is an outstanding string quartet founded by four young, talented, award-winning Israeli musicians, all "Keshet Eilon" alumni and graduates of famous music schools like Juilliard. This chamber ensemble performs regularly at major festivals and halls in Israel and around the world. The ensemble members are winners of prizes in international competitions and work together to spread chamber music to wide and diverse audiences. Members of the ensemble: Victoria Gelman – Violin, Omer Herz – Violin, Laiki Glick – Viola, Gali Canaani – Cello, Lior Yoachimik – Clarinet.
About "Keshet Eilon": The "Keshet Eilon" Music Center has operated since 1990 in Kibbutz Eilon. Over the years, the center has hosted dozens of concerts, academic studies, and its highlight: the annual summer course, featuring young musicians from around the world. On October 7th, the Music Center was evacuated from the Western Galilee and began operating in central Israel, only recently returning to full activity in the North.
