Returning the tradition's pulsating echo – through today's eyes and heart: 'MiDor LeDor' (From Generation to Generation), a unique concert series of an inter-generational sound journey that combines new melodies and contemporary arrangements of ancient tradition. Conductor: Sivan Albo, Artistic Director: Elad Levy.

Shlomo Bar, one of the leading figures in ethnic music in Israel and the soloist of the band "HaBrera HaTivit" (The Natural Choice), joins the Jerusalem Piyyut Ensemble for a festive and moving concert by The Israeli Andalusian Orchestra Ashdod. The performance is based on "Yagel Yaakov" - an ancient collection of Piyyutim (liturgical poems), mostly written by Rabbi Yaakov Abuchatzira and his descendants.

The 'MiDor LeDor' concert will unfold as a fascinating musical journey: in a collaborative and innovative performance, Shlomo Bar and the Piyyut Ensemble will present a contemporary musical interpretation of the traditional Piyyutim. The show combines original arrangements and new compositions by Shlomo Bar, wrapped in the rich and virtuoso musical framework of the Israeli Andalusian Orchestra.

The combination of Bar's unique voice and the ensemble's musical language creates a powerful experience of devotional singing, connecting spiritual labor and live creation on stage.

Shlomo Bar: "The connection to the 'Yagel Yaakov' Piyyutim is a journey to a deep, internal home for me. Working with the Jerusalem Piyyut Ensemble and the musical language of The Israeli Andalusian Orchestra Ashdod is an encounter that allows us to return the tradition's pulsating echo—but through today's eyes and heart. It is a great honor for me to give a new voice to ancient words that carry so much light, and to feel how generations connect through music."

Elad Levy, Artistic Director of the Orchestra:"'MiDor LeDor' is one of our most intriguing and exciting concerts this year, an encounter that presents a contemporary musical interpretation of traditional Piyyutim. The combination with Shlomo Bar’s unique voice and the musical spirit of the Jerusalem Piyyut Ensemble creates an experience where the past and present intertwine—giving birth to live, timeless, and soulful music."

The 'MiDor LeDor' concert is part of the season of The Israeli Andalusian Orchestra Ashdod, recipient of the Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement. The first concert series of the season, "Ahavat Olamim" (Eternal Love), achieved tremendous success, drawing an audience of thousands across the country. The orchestra, founded about three decades ago, continues to lead a groundbreaking artistic path that combines traditional instruments with rich symphonic orchestration.

Shalom Lotati, CEO of the Orchestra:" We are proud to continue leading cultural activity that respects the past, looks forward, and expands the variety of audiences enjoying it every year, including young people. The orchestra operates out of a cultural and artistic mission, and a desire to provide the Israeli and international audience with an exciting, connecting, and meaningful experience. The 'MiDor LeDor' concert and the entire new season express our unique DNA—loyalty to tradition, alongside openness and renewal."

The performances will take place in central halls across the country, aiming to make the cultural experience accessible to diverse audiences. The public is invited to experience rich performances, combining musical virtuosity, original arrangements, and authentic instruments alongside spectacular symphonic orchestration.
