A Flowing Future Northward: The 11th Kinneret Conference on Engineering and Innovation in the Field of Water
At Beit Gabriel on the shores of the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee), the 11th Kinneret Conference on Engineering and Innovation in the field of Water, named after the late Noah Galil, took place (November 11, 2025). The conference, initiated by the Kinneret Academic College in cooperation with the Water Community (WaterEdge. IL), the Water Authority, and the Jewish National Fund (JNF), has once again become the central platform in Israel for a professional, innovative, and in-depth discussion on the burning issues of the water sector in Israel.
Hundreds of participants, including researchers, industry professionals, entrepreneurs, students, and government representatives, took part in a day full of lectures, panels, presentations of technological solutions, and fruitful discussions. This year, the conference focused on the integration of technological innovation with existing engineering systems and the presentation of practical solutions to the challenges of the water sector - investments in Israeli water technologies, sustainability and regulation, engineering innovation, the use of artificial intelligence and computational models, solutions for water purification, remote monitoring, proactive maintenance, and more.
In parallel, a professional exhibition was held, with the participation of dozens of leading companies from the technological and engineering sector in the field of water, some of which sponsored the conference, including Aquastia, Rafael Valves, Hulio, Gaon Group, Veolia, DHV MED, Modutech, and more. In addition, for the first time, an innovation complex was held under the auspices of Xylem and the Kinneret Innovation Center (KIC), where Israeli startups presented the latest developments and innovations in the field of water.
The unique location of the conference in the north, on the shores of the Kinneret, expresses the vision of the Kinneret Academic College to strengthen the region as a national knowledge and innovation center in the field of water.
Dr. Doron Markel, Chief Scientist of the JNF:“The JNF sees the field of water as a strategic component of the national resilience of the State of Israel, especially in the context of the rehabilitation of the Galilee and the Western Negev after the war. Collaborations with leading bodies such as the Kinneret Academic College, the Water Authority and the WaterEdge.IL innovation community allow us to promote research, development and innovation that ensure wise and sustainable management of water resources. We are proud to be partners in a conference that strengthens the north as a global knowledge center in this field.”
Prof. Ran Soffer, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Kinneret Academic College:"The conference emphasizes the place of technological innovation as a central factor in dealing with the water challenges of the future. At the Kinneret Academic College, we see paramount importance in educating the next generation of engineers for the local and global water industry. We believe in and promote the creation of connections between academics, industry, startups and decision-makers, in order to develop efficient and sustainable solutions to the water crisis. We are proud and happy about the involvement of our partners, Mekorot, the Water Authority, the WaterEdge.IL water community, the Jewish National Fund (JNF), and more."
