Celebrating "International Comic Book Day" at the Israeli Cartoon and Comics Museum in Holon, with a special event dedicated entirely to comic culture. Today, Saturday, May 9, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Today, Saturday, May 9, the Israeli Cartoon and Comics Museum in Holon will mark International Comic Book Day with a special, colorful, and festive event for all fans of the genre—children, teenagers, families, collectors, veteran readers, and anyone who wants to step for one day into a world of illustration, humor, imagination, and superheroes.

As part of the event, initiated by Mediatheque Holon and the Israeli Cartoon and Comics Museum, a rich day of activities will take place featuring some of the most prominent and beloved names in the world of Israeli comics and illustration, including: Uri Fink, Ilana Zeffren, Artista, Dudi Shamai, Dana Barlev, Ze'ev Engelmayer, Yael Nathan, Nadav Nachmani, Ofer Zanzuri, Eran Aviani, Shaked Bashan, Tomix, and more.

Throughout the day, there will be a marathon of comic workshops alongside stalls with comic books and books at discounted prices, makeup and caricature booths, and additional activities that will allow visitors to meet the creators up close, learn how a comic character is born, how a graphic story is built, and how a small idea becomes a whole world on paper.

Alongside the activities, the public is invited to visit the new exhibition on display at the museum, "Blue and White Heroes", which features works by about 50 Israeli illustrators and artists providing contemporary, personal, and local interpretations of the superhero theme. The exhibition examines what Israeli heroism looks like through the world of comics and illustration—between imagination and reality, local myth and popular culture, and between fantastic superpowers and human moments of courage, humor, and hope.

The Israeli Cartoon and Comics Museum in Holon is the only museum in Israel entirely dedicated to illustrated culture—a culture that has accompanied Israeli society since its inception through humor, political criticism, iconic characters, childhood heroes, and a visual language that has become an inseparable part of local memory. International Comic Book Day is an extraordinary opportunity to get a close-up look at this field, celebrate with the creators who lead it, and be exposed to the power of comics to tell a story, make people laugh, move them, and touch reality.
