Families are invited to visit the Israeli monkey shelter, operated by an organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating monkeys that have been confiscated by authorities after being smuggled into the country or kept illegally and under harsh conditions.

The Israeli Monkey Sanctuary is an organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of monkeys that have been confiscated by authorities after being illegally smuggled into the country or kept in harsh conditions. The founder and director of the Israeli Monkey Sanctuary is Dr. Tamar Purdman. During the Sukkot holiday, the sanctuary opens its doors to the public, making it an excellent destination for families. Visitors are invited to take guided tours, where they can meet the monkeys, learn about their backgrounds, and enjoy an adventure sports area, a large gymboree, and a creative corner for children along the way. All proceeds from the tours are donated to the rehabilitation and rescue of the monkeys. Where and When: The Israeli Monkey Sanctuary is located in Ben Shemen Forest. Entering "Monkey Sanctuary" in Waze will guide you to the spacious parking area at the sanctuary's entrance. Open Sunday to Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Who it's Suitable For: Suitable for all ages. Cost: 54 NIS. All proceeds are donated to the rehabilitation of the monkeys and the rescue of additional monkeys.
