Jewish Music: "When Classical Meets Klezmer"

The concert series "Jewish Music – "When Classical Meets Klezmer", returns to Jerusalem and will take place in the second half of November 2025 this year, at the Auditorium of the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem. The series will present 4 diverse music performances: Jewish music of Eastern Europe in two different concerts - classic Klezmer sound and Yiddish song, in the show "A Visit to the Shtetl" with Di Gasen Trio and singer Vera Lozinski, and Klezmer combined with Gypsy style, Neo-Classical and Fusion in the concert of Sanya Kroitor and her band. Unique piyyutim (liturgical poems) in the style of Izmir Jewry by the Paytan (liturgical poet) Z'aco Hazan and his band, and a performance of women's music from Yemen - Yama Teiman with a special guest: Yemeni singer Zion Golan. What is Jewish music? Encyclopedia Judaica chose the definition of the philosopher Kurt Sachs with which he opened the first International Congress for Jewish Music, in Paris 1957.

"Jewish music is music created by Jews, for Jews, as Jews": Indeed, there is a wide range of musical styles that the Jews brought to Israel from all corners of the world, after two thousand years of exile. The "Magnificent World of Jewish Music" association: has set itself the goal of presenting the wide range of styles of Jewish music to the general public and thus bringing it to the forefront of the stage in Israel. Since it began holding concerts in synagogues, the association has exposed dozens of different ensembles. The entrepreneur and chairman of the association, Yaakov Fisher, is always looking for new ensembles, and has not yet hosted the same ensemble twice.
