The Great Light of Music: A Romantic Candlelight Night in an Intimate Tribute Show to Imagine Dragons and Coldplay
"The Candlelight format proves time and again that our need for live, clean, and intimate music is only increasing," says Maya Cohen, one of the event's producers, and that's exactly how I felt... It was a magical evening we attended, dedicated to tributes to the giant bands Coldplay and Imagine Dragons - and we understood how little it takes to create an unforgettable experience. We were there, in a designed space that was filled with the warm and soft glow of thousands of LED lights that mimicked the glow of candles.
A dramatic, caressing, and intimate atmosphere permeated the place, turning the classical performance - usually performed by a string quartet - into an almost spiritual event. Unlike large rock concerts, the perfect acoustics and illuminated backdrop created a complete focus on the artists. The feeling was romantic, intimate, and authentic.
It wasn't just a "performance," but an evening where the magic happened: between the subtle echoes of the music, between the candles caressing the space, we experienced a kind of release, of deep peace after a period when we were all tense and anxious. There is something therapeutic about such a gathering: to sit next to someone you love or a close person, and surrender to the moment when the music and the place are the present. And what is most significant - we were involved in the event, and not just as bystanders. We didn't just watch but participated.
The love for music was connected to the love for the person in front of me and to the magic of the moment. Maya Cohen adds: "It was amazing to see the couples and friends sitting so close, when the songs 'Vida La Viva' and 'Radioactive' received a classical interpretation. It's an experience that reconnects you to the beating heart of the song itself, and all this happens when the feeling is the great light in the hall."
The Candlelight series continues to offer a wide range of tributes to various genres, from classical music to jazz, pop, and film soundtracks, and it takes place in a variety of special locations in Tel Aviv, with the museum being one of the regular venues.
