Israel returns to the global hotel stage: After two years in which Israel was absent from the international luxury rankings, the local hotel industry returns to the forefront with the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem, from the Hilton chain, as well as five additional hotels selected for the prestigious Forbes Travel Guide recommendation list for 2026.

Forbes Travel Guide is a global body for rating luxury hotels, with a significant influence on the hotel industry. Its ratings are determined after inspections carried out by anonymous inspectors on behalf of Forbes who evaluate hundreds of criteria.

Avner On, General Manager of Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem: "We are proud to continue leading the international hospitality experience in Israel, and I hope that the hotel industry in Israel will continue its trend of recovery and strengthening. Returning to the prestigious list repositions Israel on the luxury tourism map and highlights the local ability to provide everything required for hosting tourists from around the world."

Waldorf Astoria Hotel: Built on the foundations of the famous luxury hotel—the Palace Hotel in Jerusalem—it is considered one of the most expensive hotel projects in Israel with an investment cost of approximately $150 million. The hotel, which is the only international chain luxury hotel in Jerusalem, features 226 rooms, including 29 suites, a magnificent ballroom, sophisticated meeting rooms, gourmet restaurants, a gym, a luxury spa, and a level of service and luxury among the best in Israel.

Waldorf Astoria was selected as the leading hotel in Israel for 2022, 2024, and 2025 by the international World Travel Awards organization, and earned the title of one of the five best hotels in Africa and the Middle East for 2023.

Important: The 2026 Forbes Travel Guide rankings also included The Ritz-Carlton Herzliya, The Norman and The Setai in Tel Aviv, and The David Citadel and Mamilla in Jerusalem.
